Kinderdorp 2018

Kinderdorp means Children’s Village in Dutch and it is also the name of our successful project. This year it will take place in both the UK and the Netherlands.

Norfolk Youth Projects and the Dutch organisation Highwood International are working in partnership to organise the event. The aim is to build a whole city out of pallets made by and for the children, developing skills as team work and task organisation and focusing on issues like environment through non formal learning methods.

The first part of the project will take place in the Netherlands from the 19th to the 24th of August 2018. The young people from Norfolk, aged 8/9, will travel to Opmeer to build their city with Dutch young people. The second part of the project will be 10 Dutch young people and 5 volunteers travelling to England to build their “Kinderdorp” here with the English young people. That will be held in Cattongrove Primary School from the 26th to the 31st of August 2018.

NYP is looking for young volunteers from Norfolk, aged 12+, to help us during this event.
